“My name is Johanna and I want to become a secondary school teacher. I am majoring in Biology and German. This year, I decided to spend a semester in Sweden at the University of Christianstad in order to improve my English skills, so I contacted the EUF International Center (IC). First I had to apply to the university and wait for them to offer me a place. When they did, I was able to enroll and register. Throughout this process, the IC supported me with the formalities, for example by helping me get into the courses I wanted. Even after I returned to Flensburg, the IC helped me get my credit points recognized. The semester in Sweden was great. The study system there is completely different than ours. In Germany we take several courses per semester, whereas Swedish students concentrate on only one course at at time and do a lot more self-study than we do here. I really appreciate having had the chance to study abroad. Next year I will do another semester abroad in Greece!”
